Mystery solved....

This isn't a Dogwood - it's a white Magnolia, says our head gardener.

Neither have I - it came from the internet. Mine's posted under May 14, and was taken a couple of years ago.

  5. Hi, guys...
Well...I feel sort of silly, Ray, 'cuz I also lived around a ton of Magnolia, when I lived in California. The odd thing is that this species/variety (phew! I just read that there are 80 different varieties! No wonder I'm having trouble finding the one that I am used to seeing!) must be different than I am acquainted with. The shape and color are different than the 2 varieties that I knew of: one was purple-ish blossoms and another that was a humungous tree with beautiful cream-colored flowers.

Oh and how I LOVE their sweet, lovely fragrance! It's out of this world!

  6. They have a lemony fragrance to them...I love it too...

  7. On the front lawns here, we have a white one, a purple one and a yellow one, and they're all lovely.
They each look a bit different too.
The shapes of their flowers are not all alike.
