Part of the Family Tree....

My maternal grandparents and their children, from about 1904. My mother is the little girl in the back, wearing the white-collared dress, beside her older sister.  I had never seen this picture until this copy was emailed to me about a week ago by my cousin Dale's wife, Barbara, and my sincere thanks to them both for it.

  2. Hi again, TC -

The picture came with genealogy notes provided by a cousin and wife team of retired university professors, who are now amusing themselves creating our Family Tree.

Beneath the tranquil surface of this charming old photograph lies a veritable hotbed of intrigue, seething passion, and mystery - especially mystery. It's too bad I've never attended 'Creative Writing 101' because if I had, this might make excellent raw material for a screenplay or book.

  3. I can see a resemblance between you and your mother...That's a great shot...I love old pix of my relatives...

One of the reasons I started by blog was because I never met but one of my grandparents...And I only met her (my mom's mother) when I was 4 years old (for 2 weeks up at her farm in Soo Ste. Marie, Michigan)...She couldn't speak good English but she made a hellava blueberry cobbler...and she once killed a skunk with a pitch fork who was bothering her chickens...I wish I had been able to meet the other grandparents but they past away early in my life...So I decided to start my blog so that some day my grand children will read it and find out what a great guy I am (tongue in cheek)...Right now they are more interested in Facebook and You Tube and tweeting and movies than visiting me...but I still love them and try to see them as often as I can...
