I don't think that's going to be a problem. These guys aren't like pigeons that sit around crapping all day. These guys are here and gone again very quickly.
And this isn't intended as an ongoing thing - I was just trying to get a couple of decent pictures, and in the process, I realized that to do that, I'd need to spend a lot more money on a camera, because this $500 Pentax simply hasn't got what it takes. And I don't want to cough up about $3,000 for the rig that would do it because I wouldn't use it all that often. Spending that kind of money for a nice sharp picture of a seagull seems a bit ridiculous.
