Katy Perry's 'Prism' hit shelves today....

I'm much too old to be a fan of today's pop rockers, but I do prefer Katy's stuff to that of 'Twerky'. She's willing to take chances, and she gets results without having to get naked to get noticed.

However, listening to her 'Walking On Air' I'm reminded of Cher's 1998 'Believe'
on which there's some tricky electronic 'doctoring' of the vocal in places - and it
seems totally unnecessary. Katy has a good voice, and a pleasant range, and it shouldn't need augmentation with electronic gimmickry. In Cher's case, that was understandable, because by the time 'Believe' came out, Cher was on the doorstep of her everlasting 'farewell tour' which set some kind of world's record for its duration and our patience. Katy is right in her prime, and she doesn't need those kinds of props to make the product marketable.
