When Windows gets an update, it all happens mysteriously in the background and you really don't have a clue what's going on until it's all over, and it either succeeded or it didn't.
Not so with PCBSD-10. It shows you step-by-step what it's doing and tells you why, and confirms that everything's OK as it goes along. I like that. This is a nice operating system. You should try it.
And yes, you can have your own backgrounds if you wish, or any of the ones which come with it, and there's quite a few.
