Cutting emissions....


As previously mentioned here, this isn't a state or national problem; it's a global problem, and has to be addressed globally to be effective. I'm not saying that we shouldn't be doing something, but I am saying that for it to have the desired results, it has to be an international effort, because polluters elsewhere can negate your improvements unless they also reduce emissions.

This isn't only about having cleaner air. At a fundamental level, it's about whether or not we want civilization as we know it to continue to survive in some kind of tolerable form. Or do we continue to trash our environment until it deteriorates beyond the point of no return? That's the real problem here.
