Fashion?

Fashion? I'm so old.... ( "How old are you, Ray?")... I'm so old I can remember when an outfit like Rihanna's almost wearing here was considered the teaser at the beginning of an exotic dancer's routine. The part of the act where the more impatient among us began to call out "Take it off! - Take it all off, Honey!". And it was usually worth waiting for it while she did.

And Kate, wherever you are, I still love you passionately. I still miss those 'Captain's Plate' seafood platters that we shared after you finished your routine, back when. Kate, I should add, had a floor length sheer Egyptian cotton creation that she sometimes wore, and in it, she would make Rihanna look like a fencepost!

One evening I made reservations at a very fancy seafood establishment on the waterfront here, and Kate asked "What should I wear?" I replied, "Anything your heart desires, My Dear. This is the kind of place where the elite meet to eat so give them a treat." She wore her Egyptian cotton creation, over a peppermint striped bikini, and it took us three hours to finish dinner, because the whole place, including the staff, kept finding excuses to stare at her or ask if we'd like anything else. There was an older couple at the next table, and I thought the old guy was going to choke on his soup when he got a good look at Kate. Needless to say, she loved it, and so did I.

  1. Ray...I'm getting to like you more and more...Kate sounds like a wonderful woman and a good date for you...I dated a stripper when I was in the army...She wasn't a stripper when I met her...She was a waitress at a juke joint just outside the gates of the fort...We dated for about a month and then she disappeared for about a year...Some of my buddies who knew her told me they saw her at the strip club named the Silver Slipper...I immediately got myself down there that evening and sure enough...there she was...Blonde,buxom and beautiful...I asked her out that night after her act...she said a captain had already made that offer...Then she came back to me and said she cancelled his offer because she had a better one...( I was a Specialist 4th class)..HeHe

  2. When I knew Kate back in the early '80s, she lived in a stylish little apartment overlooking the beach near our most famous park, and she liked to jog in the park to keep in shape. I liked to ride my bike around the seawall walk there, and sometimes, after we'd done our thing in the park, we'd go for breakfast to a quaint old beachfront hotel that had a good dining room.

Kate was quite artistic, and did some nice sketches. I doodle a bit myself, so we had that in common. She had been married to a guy who was physically abusive, so I made a point of helping her forget all that.

I asked her once how she would know when it was time to give that up. She said that the career of an exotic dancer was usually about ten years, and she would be able to tell when it was time to go by the guys not hitting on her so steadily.

I probably should have married that girl, but she was fresh out of an ugly marriage herself, and I was happily divorced too, and we both realized we weren't quite ready for it. Too bad - I still think we'd have made a great pair. I've never found anyone since that fascinates me like she did.
