Typewriters: we love 'em

Many years ago in the Saturday Evening Post, a humor writer used to do a periodic column written as if being spoken in broken English by a German, and in that, a typewriter was called a 'peckenclacker' and Tom Hanks would have loved it. He also should visit Rebecca and Brandy's 'Regional Assembly of Text'
here in Vancouver, because they collect old typewriters too, including a couple of mine, from the late 1940s and early 1950s.

The girls have a monthly letter-writing club and everyone gets to use an old typewriter, to write a letter to someone they like.

I think it's just wonderful that our younger generation has an interest in the past, and that some of them are trying to preserve some of our old things.
I wish Rebecca and Brandy every success, and continued fun doing it. If you would like to visit their website, here is where it is.

This one's for Brandy and Rebecca, and Tom Hanks in case he tunes in....
