Another view of Mars from Deimos


What's different about this one is that it's a panorama made with Microsoft Research's Image Composite Editor to combine two images so that I could include that portion of the galaxy on the left. Speaking of which, it's interesting to note that the plane of our solar system is nearly at right angles to that of the galaxy itself. Luckily, there's no "up" and "down" in space. But this suggests another question: "Did our solar system drift into this galaxy from elsewhere?"
