Climate Change...

OK, here's the plan: Forget that toy snowplow, and get a real one. And then buy yourself a new Arctic Cat Snowmobile, and learn to really enjoy winter. Those can almost fly....

As I'm writing this, it's only 39 F here in Vancouver, where we would normally be enjoying very spring-like weather by now. Back in the 1970s at this time of year, I could go skiing on the nearby mountains in the mornings, and then go swimming in the outdoor pool in the afternoons. You can't do that now. So I have no doubt the climate has changed. Those who are paid to tell us that all this climate change stuff is just nonsense are not very convincing when we have the proof all over the back yard.

  1. It has been pretty mild over here so far, in DE (around 5 ºC or so. It is milder here than in your area by default, because of the warm Gulf Stream.
We haven´t had much snow this winter, which will be over soon anyway.

Best wishes to you, Ray. Keep it going.

  2. There hasn't been as much snow as usual here this year either, but on the other side of the continent they are getting much more than the normal.

Have you been to Gran Canaria lately to check out the scenery?

    All the best to you.

  3. Sorry Ray for the late answer, I notice I hadn´t enabled email notification about follow-up comments.

Well, we dream a lot about Gran Canaria, still post photos on flickr from the archives, but the two Rascals seem to have changed everything, no more GC in 3 years or so.
It´s possible to take the dogs there by plane although it´s not unstressful for them. So we´ve decided to leave it there for the time being.
But what we´re planning is traveling there by car some day, in our rolling kennel. It´ll take some days on the road to get there, and also a ferry crossing. But that is going to be a wonderful road trip.
