Rachel today: "Another oil train blew up this morning..."

I wonder why nobody has thought of shipping that inflammable stuff by pipeline? Pipelines are underground, pipelines are quiet, pipelines don't fly off the rails when the frost comes out of the ground, and pipelines don't usually pollute the railway's right-of-way with unprocessed crude oil containing nasty chemicals that you wouldn't want your kids to play in. And pipelines don't usually explode nearly as often as these derailed tanker cars. So why hasn't anyone noticed all that? Are we stupid, or what? Do people in the oil industry all have I.Q.s about twice their belt sizes? And what's the excuse for the rest of us?
If brains were dynamite, could we actually blow our own noses without help?
