Yes, it has a media player - several, in fact

I went onto Google and asked "I need a media player for PC-BSD. What should I have?" And I got a page describing 8 of them. I chose SMPlayer because it does almost everything, and it even remembers where it left off, in case it gets interrupted. I like that. And it also sounds very nice. And you don't have to add codecs to make it work. You install it, select your media, and it just works. Just like it should. And it also works in Windows, if that's what you're using. You should try it.
