Getting comfy with Linux Mint....

Yes, you can. And it won't take long. I've made a few nice discoveries while exploring this dual boot setup with Windows.

Unlike the PC-BSD systems I've tried, which don't recognize anything inside your Windows partitions, Linux Mint knows they are there, where they are on the disk, and how big they are. And it will mount that Windows partition in Linux, so you can access your Windows files, like your docs or photos for example, directly from your Linux Desktop. And I love that. It's like having a dual boot with two kinds of Windows, and it's even simpler than using Windows HomeGroup. These two systems can work very nicely together. For example, last evening, wanting some new "wallpaper" for Linux, I went into the Windows section, and simply added its wallpapers into Linux. Nothing could be easier.

One of the big differences between Linux and Windows is that in Linux, we tend to use Terminal (think Command Prompt) a lot more. And it tells us a lot more if we need its help. Just use "-h" or "-help" after a command entry, and it will give you more information. Or type "-info" after it. It seems to know that not everyone is an expert, and it explains what to do next when we're in doubt. I like that, too. Having Linux Mint alongside the Windows is almost like having another kind of Windows on here - almost, but not quite. This one's more like OS-X. It came from the same roots.
