A couple of evenings ago, sitting at the computer here, I got a hell of a pain in the chest, so I decided to have a look at the recently-enlarged ER at the local hospital. They put me to bed and plugged me into "mission control" for several hours, while they collected charts and readings on the heart.
The readings were erratic and the pulse rates were up & down, but after two sets of tests six hours apart, the doctor said there was no sign of damage, and aside from the periodic low pulse rates, the other readings were in the healthy zone, and the low pulse rates were OK as long as those continue to bounce back up into the normal range fairly quickly.
So they told me I was "good to go" after about 7 hours on the monitor, so here I am. But we don't know what caused it, and we didn't get into "old age and lack of proper maintenance". So it's a mystery.
But at not-quite-78, I'm probably past my "best before" date already and running on borrowed time, so I have to expect these things, I guess....
Lately, though, I'm trying to take longer breaks away from the computer, and get some fresh air a bit more often. That's my story, and thanks for your concern.
