It's slushing again.....

It's not exactly snowing, and it's not exactly raining - it's slushing again....

  1. We had 29 degrees and a coupla inches of snow, a coupla days ago. It warmed up 27 degees, overnight; the snow melted; and the rain continued. I would so much rather have rain than snow (or slush!). Ever tried "freezing rain"? NOT fun! So...anytime I've seen "slush," I'm just HOPING that it isn't going to freeze, overnight!

    Stay warm, Ray!

  2. UGH!, it was zero this morning when I got up...

Ray, looks like you have that yellow snow where you live also. :-)

  3. The yellow color is probably coming from the lighting used. Here's what Wikipedia says about sodium-vapor lighting:-

LPS lamps are the most efficient electrically-powered light source when measured for photopic lighting conditions—up to 200 lm/W,[6] primarily because the output is light at a wavelength near the peak sensitivity of the human eye. As a result they are widely used for outdoor lighting such as street lights and security lighting where faithful color rendition is considered unimportant.

  4. "where faithful color rendition is considered unimportant"

I couldn't have said it any better than that...
