Yes, it's a Sunbeam electric kettle that holds maybe a liter or so, and it sits on a base that provides the power for it. The lights are in the bottom of the kettle when it is heating up. When it reaches boiling, it automatically cuts off. The reason it's hard to tell what it is in the dark is because it's made of black plastic with a little chrome trim, so in the dark, it's almost invisible. A perfect substitute for a fake UFO.
As one fellow on Facebook said, "The image is too high quality to be a real UFO."
I'm looking at it and I still don't know what it is. You call it a kettle, like in a tea kettle?
