  1. Hey Ray...

It's raining heavily here so I'm playing at my lap top and I think I recognise those Somethingorothers as Crocus...Which I planted in my backyard years ago wheh I lived in Columbia...They were the first flowers to come out of the ground in Spring...Not having a green thumb...I once planted a bunch of tulips (upside down) in my little garden...I couldn't figure out why they never came up till summer when my neighbors tulips were almost finished next door to me...I don't think I have ever seen those Whatchamacallits though...They remind me of a Japanese Magnolia blossoms...

  2. Thanks for the info on this....

Next time I see Ken, our man in charge of the grounds-keeping, I'll try to remember to ask him what these
'Whatchamacallits' really are. He's very good at all that, and he loves to choose things that keep us guessing, when they do the planting.

Speaking of Magnolias, in addition to the usual purplish ones, we also have a yellow one here, and it looks lovely when it blooms. But that won't be for a while yet - the first buds are just beginning
    to develop on it now.
