Flying down to Rio (Carioca) 1933 (3b)

It's a real struggle to get into this kind of entry, created using YouTube to directly add it to the blog. You almost have to start again from scratch to do it. Google ought to fix that, now they own both of these. They would, but they're too busy counting their money. Isn't technology wonderful?

I'm adding this little note because 'Flying Down To Rio' was the beginning of Fred and Ginger's very profitable career together, and that all began with their parts in this sequence of 'The Carioca' so look for them toward the end of it. If you have the movie, this Carioca sequence runs for almost 15 minutes in its various renditions, and I found that out by trying to tape it. It takes almost 15 minutes on a tape, and that must be some kind of record, no pun intended. But it's a very nice and very snappy tune, and I find myself trying to whistle it around the house quite often. You should try it too....
