Chopin - Ballades

              

There's a part in Ballade No. 3 in A flat major, Op 47,  that makes me think for some reason of Ferde Grofe's Grand Canyon Suite. I'm wondering if there's any connection. Was this Ferde Grofe's inspiration, perhaps? One wonders....

Cecile plays a wonderful piano, doesn't she? And she doesn't "ham it up" with added frills and fillers like some do. She just plays what the composer wrote.
