Today's Trivia: Two images compared

On the left, Pope Francis' Coat of Arms - On the right, Ancient Egyptian Scarab, symbol of regeneration, renewal, or reincarnation. Is it just me, or is there a similarity? The Egyptian Scarab is commonly known as a dung beetle. Our June Bugs are also scarabs.

Did I mention? I think our Catholic Church re-branded the religion of Ancient Egypt, and all those household, village, town, city, Nome, and National gods or goddesses got replaced by an equally complex selection of Holy Saints, and the former Egyptian families of gods and goddesses got changed to such as the twelve disciples and Mary, Joseph, and Jesus, and The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. That's one of my many theories... (and why not The Mother, Daughter, and Holy Spirit?) Patriarchal versus Matriarchal... Confused yet? Me too !!! And as some wit said, "If God meant us to go Metric, why twelve apostles?" And that's a very good question. Egyptian families (or 'pauts') of gods and goddesses usually consisted of nine; four pairs of males and females, plus a leader or commander. But that wasn't "carved in stone" - it varied.

In closing, this from Lenny Bruce (1923-1966): "Every day people are straying away from the church and going back to God."
