The President and his Affordable Care Act

If President Obama wasn't the first African American to hold that office, and if he wasn't trying to do something his predecessors couldn't, and if the Koch brothers and their special interest groups weren't out to get him, his plan for healthcare would probably already be working quite well. It's not that it isn't a good idea. It's that too many short-sighted politicians and some big-money racist meddlers are using it as a tool to discredit someone they either see as a threat or as an opponent.

Healthcare available and affordable for everyone isn't some unattainable dream the world has never seen before. We've had it in Canada for decades - most of my adult life in fact, and there are similar healthcare plans elsewhere too. It isn't impossible to set up or manage or even pay for, and if a population roughly one tenth of yours in the USA can do it, then you could too if you so desired.

But it will never happen if you let the racists, bigots, and special interest groups make all the decisions for you. Try to remember that they aren't paying your bills for healthcare. And you shouldn't have to re-mortgage the homestead when
you need some.
