Internet Radio on Winamp's Player...

I love this Winamp player and its 'windowshade' mode that fits into a title-bar without blocking the view of other stuff. Now that Winamp is defunct, I hope this doesn't break down on me.... it's a very good player, and much more user-friendly than Mighty Microsoft's or Apple's Quicktime. It has a nice rich sound too.

And all that stuff on the screen? I'm just proving that Microsoft was wrong saying our favorite 'gadgets' were a hazard to security. Bunk! The same security that protects everything else on here certainly protects these neat gadgets too.
Want some? Go to this website for a free download. You can have even more gadgets than came as standard equipment in Windows 7, and they work just as well. Some even better. And also grab this Ultimate Windows Tweaker for all those helpful little tweaks you can use to make it more comfy. If you've noticed the version information and the Build number in the lower right corner of the screen here, it's one of the tweaks in that Ultimate Windows Tweaker. There's about 149 others..... I haven't actually counted them, but there's lots.

And all of that prompts me to wonder why our Windows systems don't already have this stuff built in. Why do I have to finish building the damned thing for them? That's one reason I'm now checking out the Unix system PC-BSD 10, which is a free and fully complete operating system which can best be described as a cross between Windows and a Mac. Its programs are listed in its AppCafe where a wide variety of programs specially made for it are available. When you select one for downloading, it is automatically installed after the download has completed, and then it is ready to use. PC-BSD doesn't use the same kind of formatting as Windows, and it doesn't have Windows' problems with malware.
As they say in their literature, "It just works."  Some of my previous blogs have
more information about it. The price is right, and it does everything you could in Windows. It even has a free Office suite among its available free programs. You don't find anything like that from Microsoft or Apple. Google 'PC-BSD' for more about it.
