What is "Bloatware"? An example....

I really like Auslogics Disk Defrag, because it's faster than anybody's and it does a very nice job, including on disks with more than one partition and more than one operating system. It can do those one at a time, or all at the same time, in sequence, if you wish....

But its website is an example of "hard-sell" at its worst. You don't even see the product you went there for, until you close some advertising for another of their products that you probably aren't there to get.....

I've never tried "BoostSpeed" but I'm familiar with similar products such as "CCleaner" and "Glary Utilities" both of which work very well without resorting to quite as much "arm-twisting" to get you to buy something else you weren't there to find.

I do recommend this "Auslogics Disk Defrag" but don't simply accept their recommended express install, because it comes with other stuff you may not want....

Choose the "Custom Install (Advanced)" for the opportunity to uncheck boxes for things you don't want, and that isn't even all of it yet.....

You will also get stuck with "Ad-Aware Web Companion" unless you click on the "Decline" button to reject the offer.

And that, Dear Reader, is an example of "Bloatware" - attempting to load you up with other questionable programs you hadn't expected, may not understand,  and probably don't want or need. The moral of this little tale being that you need to be paying close attention when downloading things these days, because providers of them are getting very "pushy" with their promotions, and you need to be just as smart as they are, to avoid getting more than you expected.
