And there's a problem with that cute little white Windows flag icon that sits at the right end of your Taskbar, in the system tray area; the damned thing's there forever, unless you do something to make it go away, and the only permanent "something" is a registry hack, described here is this handy set of instructions, down near the bottom of it.
