My Picture of the Week...

This is about as good as I get as a photographer, just in case anyone's wondering. I love these flower shots. They seem to keep modern life in perspective, somehow.  Science and our great technology can do some wonderful things, but only God can make a flower look like this. Enjoy your day, everyone.

  1. I like your flower stll photos. Do I have your permission to download this one and use it on my touchipod for a background?

Random fact: early this morning I saw a pair of crows sitting in a tree, twisting small twigs off the branches and flying them to the building site of their new family nest.
Amazing to see they didn't gather the twigs on the ground but they invested some work to twist them off...

Have a good day. Ah: congrats on the new design of your blog!

  2. Oui, Monsieur! If you like the picture, please download it. These are meant to be enjoyed.

Several years ago, I began tossing slices of bread out my 16th-floor window for a pair of romantic crows in the trees along the street below, just so they wouldn't starve before the natural food supply appeared.

Little did I know how quickly they can multiply - they're experts at it - and now there's more of them than I could possibly buy bread to feed. Random fact: From a window this far above the street, a slice of bread can be 'Frisbee'd' across the back street and into a nearby driveway, and once, a crow flying past grabbed a slice in mid-air and took it into the next block before stopping for lunch. They are smart birds. None of my bread is wasted - they 'airlift' it all over the neighbourhood within minutes. It's almost like having my own private Air Force :)

  3. Yes they KNOW how to multiply, I can tell. In our town they have their abodes near the station in the crowns of tall trees nearby. But during the morning they swarm out to the fields making the whole sky black with the sheer number of them. In the evening they return to the station.
Also they walk along the roof of our house which sounds as which sounds as if the chimney sweep is at work up there.
They're going to reign the planet some day, haha.

    Have a good week, Ray.
