Late Night - Too Late ?

Each of these self-important ego-trippers thinks he's a real wit, and is only half right.

Late night TV is proof that we can't solve problems at the same level of intelligence with which those were created. Real humor is more than fart jokes and sucking up to celebrities who are there simply to flog their latest projects which try to prove that mediocrity is the new excellence in entertainment.  Uncle Miltie and Red Skelton are probably rolling over in their graves. The world isn't going to self-destruct with a huge bang - it's slowly dying of boredom and disgust.

  1. Ya, these guies have nothing on Two and a Half Men and Sanford and Son....

Actually, I was up the other night and watched some of Letterman. Boring and repeat, repeat...why won't she come on the show, etc... I finally went to bed when the Rap came on..

  2. I tried watching Leno last night...but after he entranced and came out to high five those front seat audience standing at the foot of the stage... I thought to myself,"Are those front seaters there every night just get up and walk to the stage and high five him night after night?" I don't see any little old ladies amongst them...Carson never had to do that...

  3. Thank You, Gentlemen -

It's nice to see I'm not alone in thinking we deserve better for our late night viewing pleasure.

I'd much rather we went back to the days of the midnight movie, and could view a good 'duster' or action film, or replays of the classics like The Rocky Horror Picture Show, or Barbarella (She's 72!!!) or one of my favorites, the
tale of the Roaring 20s, Thoroughly Modern Millie. I love the music in that one, and did you know that it's the only movie in which Carol Channing ever appeared as a real person? She did other movies, but they were all animations or voice-overs. Too bad, because she's a hell of an actress with a lot of charisma.
