Today's project...
Someone threw out this little computer desk, of the 'assemble-it-yourself' kind,
because those weird fittings that these all are held together with had worked loose, and the whole thing was very wobbly. it had an upper shelf arrangement
above the desktop, so it had possibilities. I went to the building supplies store for a box of inch and a half Robertson screws, and then took it apart, salvaged
some of that upper shelving material to use for reinforcing the bottom section, and then drilled some holes and used the screws to put it together tightly, not relying on its factory fasteners, which aren't worth a damn. I now have a solid
little computer stand, just big enough for my second computer, and too small for the piles of clutter around it on the old desk. Dear old Granny used to say 'Waste not, want not' and she was right. This is the kind of recycling more of us ought to try.
