The Lock Screen image in my re-installed Windows 8.0

I can't copy this using the excellent Windows Key + PrtScrn method, because of course that only works once you're logged in and actually into the program, so I had to use the camera, and got some glare along the left side - so it's not perfect but it's still not bad.  It's a view of downtown Tokyo from a viewing area in one of their famous towers, the Mori Tower. It looks splendid, doesn't it?

  1. Glad you like it, Uncle Ron.

I was never a guy who customized his cars, but I'm enjoying these little adventures in personalizing the system on the computer. Doing that has been a big help in overcoming that 'fear of flying' we all go through while learning the mysteries of the computer. I used to be terrified of the 'Blue Screen of Death' as it's called, but now, I can wipe off an operating system, and re-install it from scratch, and be back on line in maybe 45 minutes. And I love trying out third-party freebies to see how they look and how they work. It's fun, and it makes the whole experience more of a personal one. More people should try it.

Some day, perhaps, the programming in your computer will be a lot like the gourmet meal you choose at a good restaurant; everything you like, and nothing you don't, and an experience you've enjoyed
because you chose most of it for yourself after seeing the menu.

And that's a concept I wish Microsoft would pick up and run with. Don't tell me what I want in my computer, but let me tell you what I'd like to have in it, because one size does not fit all.
