Great video...love the pictures...I played Al Jolson's version of the same song and felt that his voice was more in sync with the song lyrics...I've always thought of Bing as a straight man for Bob Hope and never as a heavy...
My grandson, Michael (who is 20) last week told his parents that he he is enlisting in the Marines...I know it's tough to find a job nowadays...but enlisting in the Marines?
Speaking of Bob Hope, he once said "I can't understand what's wrong with the missile program. It's the first time the government has ever had trouble making taxpayers dollars go up in smoke."
Many years ago, I joined the Air Force to get away from a boss who was after my scalp. I did that because I have a theory - what goes up has to come down, but what goes down doesn't have to come up. So that ruled out the navy and the army. A few months later my former employer offered me a raise to come back to work for them, so I did, and I never did become a red-hot Top Gun. But I think I could have.
The military is a fairly secure type of employment, but the downside is that you can get your ass shot off if you aren't careful or lucky.
