Last night (30th) was the first night of our 'Celebration of Light' fireworks displays, and it clouded up about two hours before it, and rained right after. IN this picture on here, if you look along the waterfront in the lower right, you'll see a long barge close to shore. and that's one of the barges they use to set off the fireworks from. That keeps the 'fallout' out over the water, instead of over the crowd or buildings along Beach Street.
If you go onto the KatKam website, they usually have a file on the fireworks, so you can see most of the show in a series of pictures on there.
"First night," Ray? How many do you have? That sounds like FUN! Must be beautiful to watch! I love watching fireworks! :-D Thanks for sharing the URL. Will take a look, soon.
Usually there's four, on Wednesdays and Saturdays - three for the competing nations displays, and a final for winners to show off again. This year, they are cutting back to the three nights, because they've had problems with sponsors and funding.
Each evening's show lasts about a half hour, and those usually start about ten P.M. to make sure its dark enough for the fireworks to show up well. The beaches along the waterfront downtown are usually packed, and traffic is a mess on those nights. Hundreds also watch from their boats in the bay. It's usually quite a show.
Uhhh! Finally! So beautiful out there! LOVE ALL the WATER! :-P
