For decades, we've had a book by Dr. Spock (No, Virginia - not that Star Trek guy, a real doctor...) and maybe more of today's crop of parents should be reading it, even yet. Why? Because children are pretty-much the same as when he wrote it, away back when. They still get colic, and they still get measles, and they still get whooping cough, unless you take care of them. Kids aren't like your favorite computer program; there aren't any automatic updates, no matter how much you wish.
