Alas, Poor John....

Unless this ridiculous fiasco gets resolved favorably and damned soon, it looks like there's going to be a 'Gone Away Party' for you-know-who. And I'd still like an answer to the question of who is he really working for in all of this insanity.

One of his buddies, Rep. Steve Stivers, R.-Ohio, says: "Unfortunately, I think there was not a lot anyone could do to avoid this path. A bunch of us wanted to avoid it. But it's where we are."

This isn't voodoo, or black magic, or witchcraft, or international intrigue - it's just plain ordinary, everyday, garden-variety stupidity. You guys would rather play 'silly buggers' than get the country's business properly and promptly done, and so you've painted yourselves into a corner from which there's only one path of escape, and it involves something most of you would rather die than do, and that's compromise with your opposite numbers in the other party. What you have to do now is simply bite the bullet and get it done, before America goes down the drain, and the rest of the world dies laughing.
