Is the U.N. following the old League of Nations?

Having the courage of one's convictions and 'telling it like it is' remains an admirable trait, and it's nice to see that it's still alive and well somewhere.
Lately, the U.N. seems like just a convenient vehicle for procrastination or the avoidance of action. Not what it was intended for at all.  قد يكون الله معك.
