Here's a great new Theme for Technical Preview....
Here's the full set of them.......
Want your own Theme in Technical Preview? I thought you might.... OK, start by putting all these images into a folder you have named DesktopBackground and please note it's all one word, with the upper and lower cases just as shown. This wasn't a "typo"! Now, put that folder inside another folder that you will name with whatever title you choose....these came from the PC-BSD wallpaper files on my other PC, so I call mine BSDWPs, but that's your choice.
"Where does this folder containing the images folder go?" you ask. OK - put it for now on your Desktop, or in your own User's Name folder - anywhere where you can get to it easily. Now, make sure you have set Control Panel - Folder Options - View tab = Hidden files and folders, to Show hidden files and folders, so you will see your AppData folder in your User's Name folder. Go into AppData, to Local-Microsoft-Windows-Themes and use drag and drop or copy/paste to move that new Theme folder you just made into the Themes folder.
When you get it in there, open it, then open its DesktopBackground folder, and choose "Select All" to select all the images. When they are all selected, right-click on one of them and choose "Set as desktop background" and click it. Your new Theme should now be showing one of its images on your desktop. So right-click on your Desktop in a clear spot, and at the bottom of the dropdown, you should see "Personalize". Click that, and look in the upper left corner of the displayed thumbs of all your installed Themes.
Your new one should be there and called "Unsaved Theme". Right-click on that to bring up another little screen in which you can name it and save it. Then you can use the lower set of controls in that main Personalization window to set the location/timing for the display of each image on screen, and choose its color for the taskbar/window frames of it, (automatic is good!) and then be sure to click "Save Changes" and "OK" and you're pretty well finished here. Close the Personalization window, and enjoy your new Theme. And that's how you make your own Themes and install them into Windows Technical Preview. Have fun! And it really is!!
