...and I never thought I'd say this, but I love it! I bought a popular tax preparation program which downloads into the computer, and on the 11th, I did my return for 2014 and sent it in. Today, I checked their website for my account, which is a sort of mailbox where you can exchange messages with the Revenue Canada people. There was a message informing me that my tax return has been assessed, and my refund will be deposited into my bank account on March 23rd.
So instead of the process taking weeks, and involving a batch of temporary workers with red pencils and not a lot of training, this is now computerized and streamlined, and surprisingly quick and painless. Kudos to Canada Revenue Agency.
