Pope Francis

Being one of those "Once-upon-a-time Catholics" now divorced twice, and thus unable to participate in the full range of Sacraments within our church, I hesitated to comment on this. But God hates a coward, so here goes!

Quoting the above from His Holiness, "We are accustomed to seeing people discarded." Today's Question Everything is: "Why does that have to include divorced Catholics?"

In George M. Lamsa's translation from the Aramaic of the Peshitta, quoting it in St. Matthew 6, verses 14 and 15:-
"For if you forgive men their faults, your Father in heaven will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men, neither will your Father forgive even your faults."

I'd love to hear His Holiness explain those two verses to me, in regard to the church's treatment of divorced Catholics. Are we all among the unforgiven, or what? Are the church's rules above God's? Does anyone really understand how this game is supposed to be played? I'd really like to know!
