Dressing up Win-8: Winamp...

Winamp, my favorite media player, is still alive and well, and I like it because....

It has a 'windowshade' mode that lets it fit into the title bar of a window, where it takes almost no space, and yet you have full controls and can read about the artist presently performing. And Winamp has everything you'd want, including full-screen visualizations if you wish. And music? That would be Jazz24 of course. Check it out.
