Hillary and her emails: why have your own server?
First, they could have found a more flattering picture of her for this piece. This must have been chosen by a Republican...
Second, she had her own email server because you can't trust just anybody with your email. For example, Google's crawlers are all over your Gmail, looking for excuses to inundate you with advertising, and they probably know more about you and your mail habits than you do. So I think Hillary was just being smart about it, and trying to keep things private. I don't think she broke the rules because the rules weren't all written when she was in office. Those came later.
You can't go back in time, and convict Adam of being a sex offender because he and Eve did the nasty under that apple tree, because there were no laws about it at the time. Similarly, you can't accuse Hillary of breaking non-existent rules.
This is where American politics has gone so horribly wrong. American politicians don't want to run the country, they just want to fight with each other over who could run the country if they really wanted to, if they weren't quite so busy screwing the taxpayers cross-eyed. And too many of them are so power-hungry and money-hungry they're willing to sell themselves to the highest bidder just to get into office or stay there. So rich meddlers like the Koch brothers are able to pull the strings from behind the curtain to make them jump to their tune. And that's what's wrong with American politics.
And before you ask, "Why couldn't she trust the government system?" let me ask you a question: "Have you ever worked for the government?" If you have, then you know that their equipment usually isn't what anyone would call "cutting-edge technology". On the contrary, it's usually several years behind the times, and probably came from the lowest bidder, or some friend of the Purchasing Department, and you wouldn't have it at home as a gift, never mind trusting the future of the nation on it. Any questions?
