Reminds me of an old Abbott and Costello movie in which Bud is confronting the bad guys with his hand in his jacket pocket, pretending to have a gun. When asked what's in his pocket, he says "It shoots 12 miles and throws rocks the rest of the way." It turns out to be a banana...
