When Judy sang this song in the 1939 Technicolor movie 'The Wizard of Oz' I was a mean little kid of seven, just realizing there were things called 'girls' in the world, and hearing this song sung by this charmer gave me a big crush on this 'older woman'. She was a whole ten years older than me, and that seemed almost like a whole lifetime to me then.
And she didn't look anything like Buck Rogers or Flash Gordon, or The Lone Ranger & Tonto, or even the Tooth Fairy. I was fascinated....
