These are really cute birds to have around, and they'll pack away puffed cereal or other stuff as long as you can put it out there. We can't do that here, but I wish. These make some really loud squawking noises, but they also use other softer calls when they don't want to attract attention. The bad weather must be on the way, because these usually don't come down from the high country where they spend summers until it gets hard to find food up there.
