Why shopping malls are so popular here....
This was taken at about a quarter to eight this morning, and it's a Saturday morning in the middle of October. This is why Vancouver had the very first big indoor shopping mall in Canada, away back in the early 1950s. We've still got it, and it now spans both sides of the main street running through West Vancouver, and contains some 200 stores and businesses. It's only a few blocks away from here, and I'll probably be in it later on today - because it's not a nice day outside, as you see. Ah, 'The Wet Coast' - we just love it here! Why? It's easy to shovel, that's why.... If we want winter, we go twenty minutes up the hills. It works for us!
Now that I can see your photo on the larger screen of my laptop I notice what a beautiful picture this is. You really caught the atmoshere of an autumnal day.

ReplyDeleteI've been having a grand time lately playing with my new and Chinese-made Pentax X70 digital camera. This seems to be the Pentax response to Canon's G9 and such-like. It's what they call a 'superzoom' because it has a zoom lens that will adjust to 24X optical zoom, before going on into the digital zoom portions. And needless to say, this 24X optical zoom is really something!
If you had this in G.C., you could grab some very nice shots of the beach and its wildlife, I'm sure!
