Windows Tech Preview: Windows Powershell: A quick look...
Suppose you don't like the colors of the window's background or text? Just click on that little icon at the left end of the title bar. Then in the window that opens, choose 'Properties' and click it. You get the little window shown above, where you can change the colors, etc. to whatever you see on the color bar - just pick a color and click on it.
You can have it like this, if you like, and if you're wondering what DISM can do for you, please read on in the following windows.... I needed two for all of it.
Like I said yesterday, there's a lot of information about it. I may have missed some between these last two windows, but you can read the whole thing for yourself by opening Windows Powershell in Administrator mode, and then at the cursor, type DISM.exe /? and press Enter. You'll have to scroll down for the whole thing. This is but one example of the kinds of information you can find in this feature. For most topics, typing in its name followed by a single space and then a forward slash and question mark (as in /?) brings up the information about it. For example, let's type in SFC /? and see what we get.....
And that's how it works! So if you don't find what you wanted to know in the Help and Support feature, you should try this one before you cry for assistance. The answer might have been here all along. And I'm just like everybody else - I almost never think of this in my haste to get something happening. But there's a wealth of information in here, if we know how to access it.
P.S.....
Running DISM as above this morning fixed a few problems that SFC didn't seem to cure for me, such as empty placeholders where yesterday's screenshot thumbnails are in the folder. Those are now showing the usual thumbnails, and I know for sure this works! Thank You, Mr. Microsoft. And you too, Sally....
