A little rant about installing new Windows software...

I've been known to sometimes throw you-know-what at Mighty Microsoft for some of their more obvious f-f-f-f-boo-boos, so I feel I owe it to them to say that they're improving amazingly of late with the process of issuing, downloading, and installing new operating systems.

This evening was a good example. After I got into PC Settings - Update and Recovery - Preview Builds - Download Now, the rest was practically automatic. I clicked on the little button for 'Download Now' and then I left it to do its own thing, while I went to the supermarket for some much-needed supplies. When I returned, it had finished the downloading, and was patiently waiting for me to return and click on the button for 'Install'.

While that was in progress, I was wondering if I'd have to start all over, replacing the things I'd been all day putting back into it already. Great News, Kiddies! Microsoft saved all that for me without being asked, and when the installing finished, my personal things were just where I'd left them earlier. So I have to say this is a big improvement over previous methods, and the folks at Mighty Microsoft really are trying to help us "get with the program". So I have to say "Thank You, Everyone! You're doing a fine job!"
